2. 13.09.2020 Detention for “Circle dance”
The "Circle Dance" case is the largest mass trial of demonstrators in Belarus. On September 13, 2020, during the street action, people came to the intersection of Cosmonauts Boulevard and Masherov Avenue in Brest. They danced in a circle and sang songs. Nevertheless, the police brought water cannons and dispersed the people. The investigation found that the Brest residents "blocked the movement of public transport and created a real threat to the safety of other road users". In total, those convicted in the case received 125 years for "domestic chemistry" [restriction of freedom without referral to an open-type correctional institution], 90.5 years for "chemistry" [restriction of freedom with referral to an open-type correctional institution] and 13 years and 8 months in prison.

3. 16.09.2020 Detention for tea gathering in the courtyard
A resident of Zhdanovichi was detained after the police identified him in a photograph of a tea gathering in the courtyard. The protocol stated that he joined citizens who had white-red-white flags, which was considered illegal picketing. The man said he was just passing by, picked up his children from a dance class, and then decided to have tea with his neighbours while discussing local issues.
After the arrest, he was transferred to a detention center, and the trial took place the next day via Skype. Yevgeny stated that he had been drinking tea since childhood and remembered the white-red-white flag from school textbooks, but the court did not find this convincing. He was found guilty of violating the procedure for holding a mass event and was fined 270 BYN. After his release, his phone and personal belongings were not returned, and other participants of the tea gathering, including his mother-in-law, were also detained.

4. 29.12.2020 Detention for snowman
In Gomel, a man was charged under Article 23.34 for making a snowman with a red scarf and the phrase "Zhyve Belarus!" near his home. Authorities claimed it was an unauthorised picket, based on a photo likely taken by a neighbour. By the time the case was opened, the snowman had already melted.

5. 21.04.2021 Detention for the Belarusian language
A 65-year-old pensioner was detained in Minsk. On April 21, police burst into his apartment and searched it for six hours. The reason was a complaint from neighbors that "he annoyed everyone with his use of the Belarusian language." After the detention, the man was taken to Akrestsino. His family says that the court sentenced him to 15 days of arrest.

6. 26.04.2021 Detention for a TV packaging box
A 27-year-old young man from Minsk was arrested and sentenced to 15 days in prison. According to the judge, "he took part in a picketing by placing a white-red-white paper cloth on the glass of the balcony at an unspecified time. The man left an LG SmartTV box on the balcony.

7. 30.06.2021 Detention for refusing to rent out an apartment
The owner of the apartment where prosecutor's assistant Alina Kasjanczyk lived asked her to move out. Alina agreed, and the lease was terminated by mutual consent. However, soon a criminal case was initiated against the apartment owner under the article on violation of rights and civil equality. As a result, the woman was sentenced to two years of restricted freedom without being sent to an open-type correctional facility—"domestic chemistry" [restriction of freedom without referral to an open-type correctional institution].

8. 04.03.2022 Detention for blue and yellow ribbons in the hair
In March 2023, a high school history teacher from Minsk came to work with blue and yellow ribbons in her hair. The administrative offence report later stated that while in the school building, she "actively participated in a mass event in the form of picketing, attracting public attention by publicly displaying blue and yellow ribbons symbolising the national flag of Ukraine."
The first to react were two other teachers, who, upon seeing her in the staff room, began demanding explanations about the meaning of the ribbons. Later, the deputy principal for academic affairs got involved, claiming that such a hairstyle did not conform to the school's dress code. Soon, the school principal demanded a written explanation and threatened not to renew her contract. Eventually, it was the principal who called the police. The court found the teacher guilty of violating the procedure for organising a mass event and fined her approximately 700 euros.

9. 01.12.2022 Detention for an article about the murdered Andrei Zeltsar
On 28 September 2021, security forces attempted to break into the apartment of an IT specialist in Minsk. Such incidents tend to end with everyone inside being brutally arrested, but this time it was different - the homeowner opened fire with a hunting rifle. A shoot-out ensued, resulting in the deaths of both the owner and a KGB officer.
The news sparked a huge reaction on social media. People expressed their sympathy for the IT specialist and his family. In response, the authorities launched mass arrests, detaining around 200 people across the country. Some were held under administrative detention, while many faced criminal charges. Detainees were tortured and deprived of basic conditions, including access to hygiene facilities.
A journalist who wrote an article in which acquaintances spoke positively about the deceased was arrested and sentenced to three years in prison. The trial began in December 2022, but has been repeatedly postponed. The defendant did not plead guilty. The publishing house of this article has been closed.

10. 13.09.2023 Detention for going to the gym
In September, a young man from Navapolatsk visited a gym in Minsk, where he saw the propagandist Azaryonka. He mentioned it on Twitter and was subsequently detained. Later, he was forced to record a video with security forces and Azaryonka himself. Under pressure, he had to reveal details of his personal life and endure humiliation. A criminal case was opened against him.
